Beloved “little orchestra” Pink Martini announce their support for the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation
Acclaimed for their live performances around the world (including a hugely successful sell-out tour of Australia in 2008), the beloved 12-piece “little orchestra” Pink Martini has just released their fourth album Splendour In The Grass.
“For me, this album is all about participating in the world,” said bandleader and pianist Thomas Lauderdale. “Being part of it, being out in the street and finding the incredible beauty in the activities and unfoldings of every day.”
A chic and exotic blend of world, lounge, French cabaret, and pop, Splendour In The Grass features several guest artists including The Dandy Warhol’s Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Mexican ranchera singer Chavela Vargas and Sesame Street’s Emilio Delgado (“Luis”).

In keeping with the Pink Martini’s long-standing commitment to progressive social causes, $1 from the sale of every Splendour In The Grass CD in Australia will be donated to the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation to help people living with HIV.
“Pink Martini and Inertia Recordings chose to support the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation because they’re an organisation that changes peoples’ lives by giving practical, emotional and financial support,” said Colin Daniels, Managing Director of Inertia Recordings. “We’re pleased to be able to make our own contribution to their good work in providing support and care programs for people living with HIV by donating $1 from every Australian sale of Splendour in the Grass.“
